Today I got a good hands-on practice in how to be still in mind while active in my body and energy (which is an amazing way to be). Continuing the energy from yesterdays flow.
I went golfing with some friends and this is something I haven’t done in about 14/15 years. We thought it could be a fun thing to do (they are golfers), so off we went. Seeing that it was such a long time since I’ve played, I had no notion of doing well. No pressure on myself to success, just a thought to go out and have fun.
What’s beautiful with this sport is that the more relaxed I was in my mind the easier and better my game was. When I trusted that my body would remember how to do it, then it did. The more I let my mind come in and try to take control over what/how to play, the stiffer I became, and tension crept up in body. Naturally I would then get worse.
Now translate this to other areas in life. Overthinking and analysing while trying to do something that our body already has the road map to and will get tense and lose the natural swing of life. If instead we let go, move with the energy, trust where it takes us with an intention of enjoying what we are doing and it’s a hole in one!
I know it’s hard to turn this thinking machine off that we are so used to relaying on but now is the time to shift. Shift from our mind to our heart and body as the main player. Still keeping our mind as the caddy of the game.
Try it when and however you can to build up the trust and confidence to let it move in permanently.
Keeping it light,
